Mindy’s old chicken coop in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska had run its course. Her flock deserved something built right from the ground up.

A 12×20 chicken coop in ash gray LP SmartSide, red trim, and a red metal roof gives it a clean, farmstead look that sits naturally on a rural Nebraska property. The 20 feet are divided purposefully into 8 feet of enclosed coop space, an 8-foot run, and a 4-foot dedicated feed room that keeps supplies organized and separate from the birds. Rollout nest boxes make egg collection quick and easy and folding roosts keep the floor clear and easy to clean. Creative Backyards worked through the details and Mid-America Structures built and delivered it. Mindy’s flock now has a solid, well-designed home in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska built to last well beyond what it replaced.
