Andrew and his wife had a second property near Bedford, Iowa sitting mostly unused. They wanted a spot to actually use it on weekends, and something to look forward to in retirement.
They landed on a 16×40 Swiss Cabin after visiting Creative Backyards and walking the display models. The 640-square-foot cabin features charcoal painted siding, white trim, and a white metal roof that holds up to Iowa seasons. A 6-foot front porch gives them a place to sit and actually be outside. Four roof dormers bring in natural light, and the rear loft adds sleeping or storage space without eating into the main floor. The 8/12 pitch roof, spray foam insulation under the floor, and insulated windows mean the cabin stays comfortable well beyond summer. Built and delivered by Mid-America Structures, it’s sitting on their Bedford, Iowa property ready to use.
